Join us for our End of the Summer throw down at the Magic Mountain Music Festival! The BLT deck along with the hillside will be hoppin’ with three great acts. Gates open at 2:30 pm and music kicks off at 3:15. We’ll have some fantastic food and beverage specials for you at this family friendly event. Jatoba is gonna be back up to one of its favorite mountains in southern VT. Might even be a guest or two to join them, during one of the two 75 minute sets! Hard telling not knowing. Come stomp some feet and have a good time. This Vermont-based trio has a distinctly unique sound dubbed “groovegrass.” Their music consists of high-energy bluegrass-tinged covers and originals with thumping upright bass lines and soaring vocal harmonies. The band delivers a live show that encompasses all of these aspects complete with composed originals, improvisatory jams, and a seamless flow. Jatoba is a rebellious response to typical jam grass and has something that listeners of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy.
The Ida Mae Specker Band features Ida Mae who is an old-time fiddler, folk singer and songwriter from Andover, Vermont. Her music fuses original, contemporary, and traditional material, bringing heartfelt new life and relevance to the chain of American folk music. Specker’s EP of original music, ‘Billy in the Heartland,’ was released in December 2019. A longtime member of family band The Speckers, Ida Mae is currently touring solo and with a backing band. Specker released a new EP on October 28th, 2023, a live session recorded in a church in Peru, VT by Dan Rome and Austin Burrell (Future Fields). Her live show features Specker’s original songs in addition to creative arrangements of traditional old-time tunes, bluegrass and country songs.
Sean K. Preston is an Australian born American artist who’s music is a mixture of classic country heartbreak, Blues honesty, 50’s Rock’n’Roll bombast and raw Punk energy. His songs range from delicate laments and lullabies to fiery sermons and confessions. After years of international touring with a band, Sean toured in Europe as a solo act for the first time in Spring of 2024. He’s been a crowd favorite with his band playing here during the ski season.
