SKI MAGIC IN A NEW WAY

Here at Magic, we believe that it’s always good to keep an open mind, try new things and hone your skills. That’s why we’re offering a wide range of clinics and tours to help you do just that. Check out what we have available below, we can’t wait to show you another side of Magic! (Remember, if you need rentals, like the AT equipment we have in our shop, those are not included in any of these package prices)

TREES & STEEPS

This is what Magic is all about! Spend a few hours with one of our veteran instructors to hone your skills to access the most challenging terrain in southern Vermont. Magic’s extensive network of glades offers a wide variety from intermediate to double black diamond on and off the map. Helmet definitely required… get your game face on! Depending on conditions, “rock skis”, or your backup skis may be recommended.

BUMPS & JUMPS

Looking smooth and polished on the groomers but getting hung up in the bumps? Let our trained staff work with you to get with the flow in your next mogul field and you’ll be “ripping” it in no time. There’s also the opportunity to learn how to hit the big jumps and send it! Challenge by choice, of course. Helmet required.

INTRO TO UPHILLING

It’s not as hard as it looks!  Guests should be upper-beginner level (on-piste) skiers or riders and be moderately fit.  Learn the basics about the specialized equipment used for alpine touring, technique, etiquette, safety, nutritional needs, and personal responsibility/reliability.  Appropriate terrain will be selected based on conditions and the ability/fitness of the group members.

UPHILL TOUR OF MAGIC

Experience Magic Mountain from the bottom up! Guests should be at least middle-level skiers or riders comfortable skiing ungroomed terrain and be adequately fit.  Discover different routes and get a perspective you don’t get riding lifts.  Personal reliability and responsibility is stressed.  Terrain is selected based on weather, conditions, and availability.  Explore the trails of neighboring Timber Ridge when conditions are conducive.

PRIVATE TOURS
At the request of the participant(s), private instructional tours similar to the group clinic/tour are available when booked in advance. Routes are selected based upon guests’ ability/fitness, mountain conditions, and the day’s weather. Neighboring Timber Ridge trails are available based upon conditions and guest skiing ability. Safety and personal responsibility is the focus of all uphill activities at Magic.

2 hour one guest – $225 – each additional guest $50
3 hour one guest – $245 – each additional guest $40

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY CODE AT THE SKI AREA

  1.  Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
  2.  People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
  3.  Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
  4.  Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
  5.  You must prevent runaway equipment.
  6.  Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
  7.  Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
  8.  You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
  9.  Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
  10.  If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

Winter sports involve risk of serious injury or death. Your knowledge, decisions and actions contribute to your safety and that of others. If you need help understanding the Code, please ask any ski area employee.

RULES OF USE at Magic Mountain:

Magic may remove/trespass persons from the ski area property for the following acts/behaviors:

- Violation of state/federal/local laws or regulations

-Threats of violence or communications or actions likely to incite imminent violence or other imminent lawless behavior on others

- Use of ski area trails/glades, lifts, parks without a valid lift ticket or pass

- Unauthorized resale or purchase of lift ticket or pass, or any other fradulaent use or alteration of ticket/pass

- Actions likely to cause harm to self or others such as a violation of closed areas, reckless/hazardous behavior on the slopes, including but not limited to reckless jumping, out-of-control skiing or boarding, excessive speed in slow areas, unauthorized construction of jumps or obstacles

- Sledding or tubing in unauthorized areas

- Unauthorized public use of snowmobiles, or other motorized vehicles in areas on the property or slopes

- Unauthorized removal, destruction, defacing, or relocation of any signs, barricades, rope lines or other warning or marking devices

- Reckless or hazardous behavior on lifts that may endanger self or others such as jumping from lift, deliberate excessive swinging of chairs, climbing towers or in any way interfering with the safe operation of the equipment

- Unauthorized overnight parking or camping

- Use of any unapproved/unauthorized equipment or downhill devices at the ski area

The ski area may report and enforce the Rules of Use, and may remove the persons who violate the Rules of Use. The ski area may use private security services or local law enforcement personnel to to enforece its rules of use.
