When: 8-9AM Registration in lodge (upper level); 10:15 Mandatory Safety meeting at top of course; 10:30 competition begins; 4:00 awards
What: We will have over a foot of fresh snow for our event from this latest storm as The Ski The East Freeride Tour (STEFT) comes to Magic. Competitors take on the gnarlfest known as Black Magic to claim the right to be called the best skier in Southern Vermont. This is the second of four stops on the east coast's first and only freeskiing competition series. STEFT has an overall tour cash prize purse of $4000.

Pre-Registrations for the event at Magic must be received by Thursday 3/1 (at 5PM) to Magic's fax number: 802-824-5199 or email info@magicmtn.com (Registration form is available by clicking on "Downloads" below.) Only the first 60 pre-registrations received will be officially registered. 30 spots are being held for those pre-qualified junior contestants (see more details below). 20* spots will be available for "day of" registration on Saturday 3/2 at the base lodge.

*At the 4 main Ski The East Freeride Tour events, no skier ages 13 and
under (as defined by January 1, 2013) will be permitted to register/
compete unless they are one of the 30 prequalified contestants who were admitted via one of the 3 Junior Qualifier Events:*

1/12/12 - Mad River Glen - Jr. Unconventional Terrain Competition
1/26/12 - Jay Peak - Jr. Jay Peak Extreme Challenge
2/2/12 - Sugarbush - Jr. Castlerock Extreme Challenge

The top 10 skiers from each Junior event will move on to qualify for all 4
main STEFT stops.

***Additionally, Magic Mountain's annual Craig Potter Memorial Black Magic Extreme Challenge (BMEC) is scheduled for 2/23/13. This event is separate from the Ski The East Freeride Tour's event at Magic on 3/2/13**, and open to all age groups. The top 3 male and female** contestants from the BMEC will be qualified into the remaining 3 STEFT main events at Magic Mountain, Sugarbush, and Jay Peak.*
