THE ALPINE UPDATE
November is Savember!
November 13 Update:
Snowmaking began last night into this morning on Lower Magic Carpet. It is expected to resume tonight when temperatures drop again. All part of our commitment to open earlier (even if its just by snowmaking) on December 7th and continue through April 6th for longer ski seasons here!

Sun setting on Fall as we gear up for Winter!
Greetings from Londonderry,
There is no better time for all of us to start planning for the Winter season as we approach Thanksgiving.
Our crew is excited and ready-to-go. The lifts are all set except for a final haul rope shortening next week on the new Quad which is normal after any new haul rope is installed and gets "stretched out" after use in its first season.
All our new fixed tower guns lining both Lower Magic Carpet and Show Off are getting tested this week and next week, and will be ready-to-go when we get some mid-20s or below cold weather windows to begin making piles as the pond is full!
Here's a look at the 25 new tower guns all working simultaneously on Lower Magic Carpet this week. Kudos to our Snowmaking team of Andrew, Mike, Chris and Don getting all this installed and working to perfection!
With increased snowmaking firepower and efficiency, our planned ski area opening day is currently the weekend of 12/7-8.

An Indy helping an Indy
That's me with Erik Mogensen of Indy Pass & Entabeni Systems at Black Mtn
Keeping the soul of skiing alive here and elsewhere is one of the reasons Magic was one of the first areas to join the Indy Pass when it was first created. It also means collaborating with others when we can. Black Mtn NH was in urgent need of a beginner lift for this season as Indy Pass helps get Black Mtn up and running this season and hopefully transitioned to a viable skier-owned Cooperative by next season. We had a beginner handle tow lift to spare and were happy to get it delivered to Black Mtn recently. That's the can-do, helpful spirit of independent ski areas in action.

As a reminder. the Black Line Tavern is on break as we get ready for winter. but it re-opens on Thursday November 21st. I want to thank Bar Manager Josh Hearne for his many years of service behind the bar and running the Tavern. He's made us all feel welcome and kept us well fed and hydrated. We wish Josh the best as his family schedule no longer works with the many late hours required at the Tavern. We may still get a special guest bartender appearance from him every now and then, and now we can hopefully serve him! Thank you, Josh!

We will see you back here for a busy Thanksgiving (pre & post) here at the Tavern and let's all think cold and snowmaking soon. Let's make some Magic happen together!
Keeping the soul in skiing,
